Mark, Personally I thought only vans and pickups could have the VAT claimed back (hence the big explosion in sales of crew cab pickups). VAT on all other vehicles (cars) cannot be claimed back. If you buy something for the business and later sell it and you are VAT registered, you will have to charge VAT regardless of whether you were charged or not. Of course used cars are probably the exception, but check the HM Customs website. Sean.
