Hi Jon Waste oil heaters are still available (check the link that Tony posted) and they are still legal. A note of caution however, you do need to have a licence from your local authority to operate one. Although they are very efficient there are laws regulating their use so I would recommend you check with your local authority first, if you operate one without a licence you could be liable to a substantial fine. One other point, if you run out of oil it could also be a bit dodgy getting oil from other garages to operate your heater as waste oil is classified as a hazard and governed by transfer of waste regulations.
