Re: Insurance and VAT Archived Message Posted by Michael Whitworth on July 13, 2004, 8:08 am, in reply to "Re: Insurance and VAT" Hi colin, You have to pay the repairer the VAT element, he may bill you separately, then claim it back on your next VAT return. eg if your next return is for 1st July to 30th Sept incl. you will claim it back on that one, IF you paid the VAT before 1st July then you will claim it back on the return that is due now ie 1st April to 30th June. I hope this makes it clearer and doesn't serve to confuse even more!
