Hi Peter, I only know about the Opel system of updating ECU. It does fix a range of different faults from poor starting to the EML coming on. Its not the same software the the car left the factory with as I guess the some of these problems don't come to light until that model of car is out on the market for a while. Its amazing the types of fault that a software update can cure and nowadays more and more modules in the car can have this done for example to correct a fuel gauge thats reading wrong.
