Dating MOT certificates

Took car and current MOT certificate into MOT station.

Discovered new MOT is dated from today. Customer now looses out by 2 weeks 3 day. (Station did not check date on current certificate).

Can the date now be altered?

i think if you return within 24 hrs it can be,(i know mileage corrections can be made within this time frame) unless of course it was a fail and then subsequently fast tracked.

Get them to issue replacement cert,expiry date can be changed

My MOT station said it could not be done - my customer is unhappy to say the least. I'll have another word with station tomorrow.

If they will not do the change phone your local VOSA area office and have a word with them

this can be done.
tell them to read the manual or ring siemans help desk and they will talk them through it

Your MOT testing station are wrong.If when they test it they find a minor problem & then fast track retest it they cannot predate cert.If they carry out partial retest (stayed at VTS)then they can predate.The only way now is for them to issue (as previous post) a replacement cert which will allow the date adjustment.
