Re: Mobile Mechanics
Posted by Ian levings on April 20, 2006, 6:18 pm, in reply to "Mobile Mechanics" I spoke to my local councill, who where very helpfull, had some knowledge of the forthcoming act, it was their opinion that this act was there to stop, your local cowboy, doing roadside repairs, dumping oil etc down the drains and on the road, and generally making a mess while not paying any taxes, there is a clause in the act that says something like if the vehicle is broken down, you have 72 hrs to get it repaired. my local authority, said that, genuine mobile mechanics, windscreen fitters, mobile sparks (thats me) would not be bothered unless it could be shown that they where causing a particular problem, in which case there would be a samll fine and a warning, but get caught again and the fine etc could get very heavy. I suggest you talk to your local authority, at the very least it will bring it to thier attention.
