the price of scrap and my cast iron bath

well guys apart from myself i don't know anybody who is stupid enough to join two houses together. well i am,and not only have i reduced the value of the houses by doing so but i would imagine with this credit crunch I'm probably creeping into negative equity.
so this weekend sitting there amongst the ruins i have created, like a broke ass b-tch i decided i would remove the cast iron bath from one of the bathrooms and weigh it in especially as the value of scrap has been so high lately.

any guesses as to how much i got for this very heavy cast bath

Enamelled cast-iron (low scrap value....£5?

I take it there's no prize on offer.

weighed a load in yesterday, scrap man asked how long i had it, he said scrap has been going down every week for the last three months, currently at £50 a ton and set to go down further! my advice is if you can hang on to it for a while untill it starts to go back up, don't know when that will be though! Also put some cats in because they were fetching £80 a cat i got £10,£15 and £20 for them, not exactly what i had in mind but it bought my wifes birthday card and fish and chips tommorrow for everyone

Best question I've seen so far on a forum.....
Best guess....£17.21 without your good self sitting in it. Not sure what us carblokes are worth as scrap.

Just checked with our cat who reckons minimum £20...... per life !! and can it bring a few friends around to see someone in a bath. I think its been watching 'Dave' as it got bored with Big Cat Diary.

Not sure what the scrap made,but I hope you filled in the Registration document correctly under permanent export/scrapped,otherwise you may get a note from Dvla asking if it has a SORN!!

my cats only got 3 feet and no tail (hit by a train one Christmas eve) so like this bath it's not worth weighing in.

Bath weighed 80 Kg i got £1.60

send all your old cast iron baths to jersey !!
the farmers use them as drinking tubs for the cows and the surfers use them to wash out their wet suits (evidently, they are good for de-contaminating the wet suits internal central heating system!)
