RMI are they worth joining? #

Hi,
As the title suggests are they worth joining?
I have an appointment with them next Tuesday to discuss membership.
Any advice please?

Hi Shane

I rejoined the RMI last year after not being a member for some 15 years or so. I would suggest that as an organisation they have refocused and become more relavent and therefore useful to the motor trade. I went to my local roadshow last autumn, which I found to be very informative .

We also took advantage of their in house training, which last year was a good presentation on hybrid vehicles, general awareness & proceedures.

I have used their legal phone help twice and found the advice given of a better standard than that received from a national garage scheme.

The lobbying of Parliament and Europe etc is very important and from speaking with colleagues and my local MP, the view is that the RMI get our views across very effectively.

My advice is do it, they have changed and are doing a good job.

Hello again,
Guy from RMI came out yesterday and I was impressed what they can offer, I took out a 3 year membership which includes autodata at £995. Which I thought was good considering I pay over £700 alone for it!
The trust my garage schemes seems good and he told me he is working hard with the government to get it approved as the main nationally recognised scheme.
The advise they supply for employers and running a business seems good to.
Time will tell wheather I made right choice!

Is that membership AND Autodata for the 3 years or Autodata 1 year & membership 3 years ?

Hi Paul,
No sorry that is membership and autodata cd3 for £995 per year so about £500 each a year, put its a 3 year contract. Still good deal!
The trust my garage scheme seems good, you get a sign and they put you on there website!
