Is it me or is any one else struggling to find experience technicians ???
I have been advertising with Indeed for the last six weeks, re worded add to offer any candidates my business when I retire in 5 years (rent building and a little goodwill). Not one replied, meanwhile Indeed taking my money.
I have also taken on an Apprentice, when advertised that job collage said will have at least 15 applicants TWO One not suitable, the lad I did take lives a good 45 mins drive don't think he will stick it.
Are we a dyeing Breed??

Sadly i think you are correct, we are a dying breed.
I see a lot of similar posts on other forums and social media. A lot of techs appear to be changing over to hgv, agricultural, plant or stacker trucks etc as they all seem to pay a lot more and they do not appear to have to put up with the same ridiculous bonus schemes to earn a decent wage. They also just want the job done once and done correctly instead of wanting it doing to a fixed menu price irrespective of any problems emcounted.
I have often wondered why a salesman gets paid more than a tech and usually has a company car aswell.
