Sensor was indeed open circuit and i measured the resistance of genuine Honda replacement (£165) @ 13.5 ohms.
Another similar age Civic I have been to had a post cat sensor & cat fitted by a fast fit type outfit. The resistance of the non genuine part was about 4 ohms. I fitted genuine and it was about 13 ohms again. Also the guy took the vehicle back and got them to fit genuine cat after a week or two when the cat efficiency code was set.
