Thank you for the tip I have looked at the tensioner piston and it appears to be 25 to 30 mm.
Just phoned my local dealer to ask what the tolerence is and guess what the service receptionist said "it wont be the chain, we have never heard of that or ever changed one"
Obviously started work there today.
