Hi dave you are most likely right. When it was running ok I checked the gasses and the switching of the lambda sensors and all was ok at that time then would drop a couple of cyls without warning. I also checked live data on the air flow and this too read ok. I would have thought that the lambda sensors would have to give rich reading before the ecu would cut out the injectors.
