From memory, P1327 is "phase detection sensor" which is the Peuegot Citroen method of cylinder ID. There is no cam shaft sensor on this engine, so The ECU identifies the firing cylinder by analysing the ignition events & as such the spark plug type is crucial.
It sounds like you are onto something already with your tests, but I would look into the definition a little harder first. Of course I could be talking cobblers again!!
