Done a number of these but only after you have looked at the obvious things like plugs leads etc. The Porsche system have a system of twin TDC sensors mounted at the top rear of the bell housing and we have replaced a number of these around this year model for misfire, hesitation, poor starting and cured most problems.

They are Bosch & can be supplied by the Porsche specialists at a fraction of the money the dealer wants for them, unfortunately our local Bosch dealer cant supply them. Also if ignition problems continue the ignition amplifier on these are built into the ECU and had one that would randomly cut out on long journeys. The ECU doesn't need coding and a straight replacement is simple. My brother has owned one of these for years and recently had to replace his. HTH only food for thought dont forget the obvious first.
