Hi Next week i have a 944S2 coming in of which i have never seen before and there is not much info on my autodata etc.
I presume this car will have some sort of blink code readout?Can anyone tell me the location of the diag connector and any procedure to pull codes if possible.
Customer has a hesitation fault light throttle..firstly any pointers on the above please...1st porsche and probably the last to look at lol.

These do have blink code and live data facility.The diag plug should be in pass footwell,a 12 pin rectangular plug.All the info is on Bosch Esi system.Do you know anyone with an old Bosch kts 300?This will plug in and give all live data.hth

The fault diagnosis on these is very rudimentary , pretty much limited to disconnected or short circuit sensors and simple very slow data streaming. There is no chance of picking up any clue to to the sort of fault you describe using the comms. Best of Luck

Done a number of these but only after you have looked at the obvious things like plugs leads etc. The Porsche system have a system of twin TDC sensors mounted at the top rear of the bell housing and we have replaced a number of these around this year model for misfire, hesitation, poor starting and cured most problems.
They are Bosch & can be supplied by the Porsche specialists at a fraction of the money the dealer wants for them, unfortunately our local Bosch dealer cant supply them. Also if ignition problems continue the ignition amplifier on these are built into the ECU and had one that would randomly cut out on long journeys. The ECU doesn't need coding and a straight replacement is simple. My brother has owned one of these for years and recently had to replace his. HTH only food for thought dont forget the obvious first. Yes i wasn't expecting much data stream to be honest. John a scope on the tdc sensors on the road and look for drop out/poor signals etc sounds the best way to go.
