I am wondering if anybody can throw some light on this fault code 16575 fuel pressure sensor [G247} implausible signal.
I have to drive the car between 30 to 60 miles to get the fault code to log. When I am driving at speeds above 30 to 40mph the car will suddenly slow drastically and no throttle response, lift off the pedal and accelerate again and all is fine. If this happens more than once on a journey the above code is logged but no mil. Normal town driving the car seems perfect although ever so slightly underpowered for this engine.
I have checked the fuel pressure and flow rate from the in tank pump as per Elsawin, both ok. Next I was going to check sensor G247 and its wiring but as the sensor is in the lower manifold which has to be removed I did not have time today. I am also thinking that I should try and research this problem a bit more before I jump into that job.
The info on this fault seems very limited so I am hoping somebody has come across it before. Also, there is a pump control unit in the wiring to the pump unit can that cause problems? If so how do I test it? How do I test the high pressure pump on the cam cover? Is the possible a high pressure pump fault or in tank pump fault would cause this fault code?
Thanks in advance for any help with these questions, Colin.
