Car drives fine for a while after reset then EML light appears and a drastic reduction in power (wont go over 7mph!).
Symptoms started suddenly and seemed to be coincidental with the owner driving over a kerb an banging the rear exhaust box on it! i've checked the O2 sensors and the wiring and all looks OK under there.
I've removed and checked the valvetronic motor and it appears to be ok and free to move, checked the valve lift mechanism and cant find anything unusual, checked the wiring from the motor to the ecu plugs for condition & continuity - all OK.
I suspect a faulty valvetronic ECU but wanted to ask if anyone else had seen this before forking out for an expensive electronics box?
