Thanks for the replies and sorry for the delay.
After carrying out an oil flush and oil and filter change the misfire had improved a little.Out of curiosity he disconnected the inlet cam vanos unit whilst the misfire was present and it dissapeared.So a new one was fitted and the jobs a good un!
One for the memory banks i think.
