Year of Manufacture *: 2001
Engine Size and Code *: 1.8 GDI
The vehicle has come into us with an idle speed of around 1500 rpm. It has been into various other garages which have replaced, front oxygen sensor, fuel pressure sensor, cleaned the throttle body. There are no fault codes on the vehicle and customer hasnt complained of an engine light. I have worked through Bosch Esi checking actual values and nothing appears to stand out. The air mass meter is perhaps 2 g/s over its recommended 3g/s but I assume this is down to it being at 1500 rpm. If I move the main induction pipe away from the meter the revs will drop and once far enough away from the meter (meter reading 1/gs) engine will stall. I wonder if the vehicle is expecting EGR and not getting it causing high idle??
Any suggestions appreciated
Regards
Ben
