Update on this. Having rechecked the wiring and reloading the software. I was happy it was a faulty ecu.

The car had to go to dealer for a warranty claim. They checked the wiring and reloaded the software and they think it is a faulty ecu.

That was over three weeks ago and they say vaux policy on warranty claims are they have to be proved.

In there words they have to get a donor car to borrow the ecu off to prove the fault.

I will post the outcome when it arrives.
