Well, I have got it running.

If I scope across the 2 signal wires of the RPM sensor it will fire up and continue to run with the scope disconnected
If I disconnect the scope it wont fire up

Any how, the engine is making an awful noise. Cant decide where its coming from. Sounds like hydraulic lifters are rattling about , mixed with a noisy water pump bearing but the noise is there even with the aux belt removed
Think this may be off to the crusher !!!
