Year of Manufacture *: 08
Engine Size and Code *: 2000 TFSI
( Optional ) Scanner Used: VCDS
I have the above vehicle with 2 fault codes stored,( 4096-bank 1 cmp sensor/ engine speed incorrect correlation, and 2968-intake manifold flap position sensor bank 1)
The manifold as the flaps inside which are FAMOUS for breaking, but i have tested them with a mityvac and they are in good condition, so is the diaphram which uses vacuum to open them, and the vac lines themselves. Using vcds i can hear the controller clicking which controls the vacuum. To prove the system i put my vac gauge on the inlet side applied vac and with ign on only used vcds again to operate the system and my gauge read went back to zero which shows the contoller is capeable of working, but the code still returns.
Next for the cam/crank code i know it as had both sensors at a previous garage, so i quickly put a vac gauge on the engine to check timing and see 28 hg vac, which to me is too high(18 to 20) and think it as a restriction of some sort- cant find one.Car runs and idles well, i am begining to think its an electronics fault somewhere therefore am asking for any schematics on this engine or just any input/thoughts.
Thanks lee
