I have the above vehicle in with a loss of battery charging. It was diagnosed by the breakdown service as an alternator problem but I need to confirm that. The warning light doesn't come on untill the engine has been running for a while. This may be a similar system to the Ford Smart Charge but only has one wire going to the multi plug. I have no wiring diagrams or pin data for this but the same alternator is used on some of the later Mini's and the diagram for that says that the wire goes to pin C38 but doesn't give any waveform for it. Can anyone give me some advice on testing this and what I should be seeing at this terminal. I have attached a couple of captures and as you can see the waveform is a bit erratic but doesn't change with any load put on the battery. I also have P0014 Exhaust camshaft dephasing coherence but I have ignored this for now. On clearing the only codes to return were P1675, Alt open circuit and P1676, Controlled alternator value received incorrect on BSS network.
