I did one of these quite a few years ago, fit a second hand unit which was no good. In the end it needed a new unit and could only be programmed by dealer, second hand units can't be reprogramed.
You could phone Autologic, they'll tell you if there's anyone near you with Volvo AL and give them a call, although they still might not be able to help as programming on Volvo is now limited.
