It did clear once when i had the brake pressed but returned after releasing the pedal, code does not change if switch unplugged or removed and does not change after battery removal etc.

Did also have an issue with high level brake lamp not working fully, not repaired and even tried a full negative on switched side of connector to simulate a good earth through lamps.
