We have a very low mileage (25,600) Fiesta 16 valve 1.25 automatic, it belongs to a family that has had it for several years and the car is pristine to be fair. The problem of late is that the car frequently stalls when put in to drive from park or neutral, particularly when cold as though the air metering valve is not adjusting quickly enough to demand. However when trying to access the engine ECU to see what is going on and get some data, we are unable to get in to it. We have tried 3 different machines and still no joy. Using a break out box from the diagnostic socket, the live feed and earth are both ok, and having taken the ECU out and checked the wiring to the multi-plug all the live feeds are present, and all the earth's with the exception of pin 27, which on the autodata information on this model appears to go via a 'pats' unit I think!! Question is have any of you come across this before on this model, or am I missing something, as at the moment it is looking like an ECU issue, however given the mileage and the cars condition I cant understand at the moment why this should be the case!!

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
