Alan, you were spot on. The fault code was basically saying that the replacement throttle body required initialisation. Dave Harney kindly sent me instructions on the procedure and all is fine.

Initialisation is carried out as follows: Turn ignition on....and wait 2.5 secs without touching the throttle. Engine temp between 10 - 90c and battery volts above 10v. Vehicle was road tested for about 25 mins with no problem.
