Any input on this would be great.

2003 (52) renault Megane 2 1.6 16v 85k on clock.
Complaint is starting and cutting out and poor running.

Says have to hold revs for a minute or so to stabilise it.

Not had it long. But it has got history with it.
It's had a cambelt and dephaser pulley
The cam actuator looks fairly new too.

Bloke has replaced throttle body and coolant temp sensor himself on advise from a Internet forum.

I've replaced his crank sensor as someone previously had just spade connector and hot glue to the sensor so replaced sensor and plug and a short section of wire.

Asked to carry out a full service and investigate so it's had a full service yesterday

No dtcs
After several hours of the car standing went to investigate reported fault it does play up
But looses comms with scan tool not just when stalling but when running rough too.


I've tried a known good map sensor with no change
Disconnected cam actuator still same

Tested for vacuum leak with brake cleaner with non found.

After 6/7 start stalls or poor running and then cutting out

Car idles high and then settles

Can view data then only thing that stood out was the short term fuel trims where really high negative numbers.

Anyone any input

Could it still be a dephaser fault even though theirs no noise or fault codes?
