Looking at Vauxhall tis,there are 2 pink/purple relays in the box by the bulkhead.One is efi system relay and the other is the fuel pump.My experience with these is that it is more likely to be an ecu fault ,where the switched earth from the relay is lost.You can prove this by putting in your own earthing system to test.
