I agree with Andrew control wire from ECU to relay is prone to failing, load and wiggle test it at least.
Regards your comment when it fails there is no power at the relay, are you saying that 1 or both of the 12v + feeds to relay drops out ?
Remember the ecu will control the relay by earthing the coil.
