One of the lads removed the EGR unit and found it clogged with Gunge, So he cleaned it out and Plugged it in, we then started the engine and watched to see what happened, ( one thing that I hadn't seen originally was the 3 wires that operate the solenoid valves, So I couldn't understand how it worked ) When the engine starts up, After a few seconds, the EGR valve opens then a few seconds later the throttle valve closes, Then on this one, the Engine stalls, So I was going to buy a new EGR valve, but I would like to make sure that it will cure it first, ( Approx £110.00 + VAT )
The only thing that We can see is that the throttle flap is closing almost fully and it is trying to run completely on Exhaust gases, So should there be a stop somewhere on the throttle flap to stop it closing fully, so that it can allow the engine to breath an air/exhaust gas mixture.? At the moment we have disconnected the Vac pipe to the EGR and it is running fine. ?
