    hello Wayne,
    as others have said I would def check valves. I had one a few months ago, 1800 freelander 32,000 miles and it had similar misfire code and a slight noticeable hunt at idle, touching the throttle woud smooth it out. Carried out a comp test and two were well down under 100psi if i remember, did a leak check and traced to exhaust valves whipped off head and cylinder head shop cut seats and valves they reckoned it had been roasted at some point customer didnt reckon it had and gasket did look okay motor has been fine since but a compression check may well show a problem on yours
