No one local had a reader that would do this so went on a little search on ebay and bought a cheap obd 2 lead and cd for 50 quid. Plugged it into laptop and it came up with 15 fault codes. Decided that this was probably due to testing as had unplugged various items when testing. Deleted the codes and started vehicle expecting tohave the true fault code appear. First thing i noticed is it didnt miss when started. Code has not returned so im guessing all it needed was the fault codes erasing. Customer happy as has been driving with this fault for over 12 months since the last mot when another garage had tried to solve the problem. I was just amazed that a 50 quid diagnostic lead and cd outperformed a 3000 quid bosch machine. Think i will be looking at some more equipment on ebay!
