Hi Rob, If you fit the new sensor (because your scan tool shows no rpm when cranking)and stick the old sensor on the exhaust manifold heat shield by its magnet, put your meter on it and run engine, this tests the new one you have put in(cos hopefully engine keeps running) and you will find your meter will start to read open circuit, this just makes you feel happy to charge for a job well done.
