    Hi Peter,
    Drop the steering column shroud off, look to the right hand side of the column, and you will see a small black Valeo unit clipped to the column. Remove this box, open up and check for water damage. Re-connect box and see if you can get the car to start. If it will start, pull the wiring plug out of the box, and it will never look for the immobiliser box again! This has worked for me many times, especially with pug 106's with long-term intermittent non starts.
