Thanks for the replies chaps.
Went back to this today, this time I monitored the EGR position whilst customer drove the car.
On light acceleration it showed the valve was being opened almost fully??? on hard acceleration it stayed shut and on the over-run it was opening slightly. Now I'm totally confused!!
I have advised the customer to remove the EGR valve again and clean everything up including the housing. Will keep you posted.
