Mitsubishi Carisma GDi - Poor drivability # Archived Message

Posted by Shaun Dale on June 18, 2007, 4:30 pm

Vehicle can be driven ok on light throttle but if given lots of power engine bogs down and cuts (vehicle is an auto so big driveability issue).
Initially no codes (EOBD) but finally brought light on P0300 (multiple misfires), so no hints there then.
When driven it feels like the engine is cutting lean, in the workshop the lambda sensor (B1,S1)switches at idle but sticks lean when throttle is snapped open and engine misfires.
It seems just like a MAF problem but they are £524 and Mitsubishi parts said that country wide they have only sold 4 this year, so I'm very reluctant to put one on.
I am wondering if there is a fuel delivery issue but I am completely unable to find a fuel filter anywhere. I have no idea if it is possible to take fuel pressure readings of any sort or how to go about it.
    Any help gratefully received.

    Shaun.
