    These ECUs compare the primary signal of the two wasted spark coil pairs and if an imbalance occurs , the ECU then shuts down one or both cylinder pairs and logs the appropriate fault code. This seems to be what is happening in your case. If the ECU was faulty , I would not expect the car to run for as long as you say or to correctly identify ignition coil codes. I would still suspect an HT problem. Have fitted a genuine Bugicord coil because there are problems with the other types on the market. Also are the plugs original spec?. Also as Glyn says , relays are a known issue on these cars.
