    Thanks all

A bit of a "damp squib" this one.

First thing Monday I decided to whip the plugs out & sure enough, they were wet through & black as your hat! (What does that mean? ) After a clean up with careful application of Oxy Acetylene the car started straight up. It was really rough though, but soon I found an intake hose fitted incorrectly causing un-metered air situation.

I have to confess to a poor scoping job on this, as I failed to capture accurately the detail needed to make any firm conclusions. To make up for my inadequacies I put some time in on some key areas for future reference.

Here is a good ignition primary capture, after a flamin clean up………

Here is a TPS vs MAF capture. (Note the digital MAF signal)........

Here is a CMP vs CKP capture........

I am not sure if it is accurate to call the last capture a CMP vs CKP. The signals were taken from a unit mounted at the rear of one of the camshafts. I have seen a few Hondas with several "phase sensors" mounted within the distributor. I suppose the CKP signal doesnt have to be taken directly from the crankshaft.

    Thanks for looking
