Ford Focus 1.6 2002 - Intermittently has no power when overtaking # Archived Message

CAR INTERMITTENLy HAS NO POWER INCREASE WHEN OVER TAKING OR GOING UP HILL WHEN ENGINE IS HOT(98 deg).NO FAULT CODES LOGGED USING SYSKES MAP POD
(CD13, WHICH WE ARE LOSING FAITH IN BIG TIME)
COULD NOT READ COMPONENTS AS THE SCANNER PUTS THE
'MIL' LIGHT ON,KNOCKS OUT TEMP GAUGE,TACHO AND
    MILEOMETER.

SO WE USED CARMAN II ON E.O.B.D. AND COULD READ COMPONENTS.(I BETTER STOP SHOUTING,sorry)

When stationary all seems to be okay until revs reach just over 2k. Engine starts to hunt with a
variation of 150 r.p.m..As the throttle is depressed a little further the hunting get to 200 r.p.m. variation with no rise in overall engine r.p.m. until the pedal is depressed a further inch
then, like a flick of a switch it starts reving and revs out.
Throttle position is 29% when faults starts and
rises cleanly and evenly to 36% before all is good
again. Lambda is switching 0.175 volt to 0.845 all
the time at the right duration and manifold depression stays constant
But igintion timing starts at9.5 deg at idle and
    rises to 32 deg.until the hunting/holding back
occurs.Thentiming drops to 8.5-9.2, sometimes goes
minus 8.4-5.3 volt and in between switching back
to anywhere around 29-32 deg. When power resumes it is back to 36 deg.
Anyone come across this. P.S.car belongs to a man
    from VOSA.
