From Memory ( which as most will tell you isn't very good at times ) There is a plug on the distributor with 5 or 6 wires in it, Ignition feed, Earth, Cam sensor signal out to ecu, Crank sensor signal out to ecu, Trigger signal back from ecu to ignition module. So if you use a scope or digital test lamp you should see 3 Signals. If they are OK Suspect Ignition module or occasionally ignition coil. We used to remove Coil and test it using an ignition module tester and see if we had a good spark. (or you could do what one reman Company said and power up the coil and flash the neg wire to earth 3 times and if you see a spark, the coils ok ) No wonder the warranty rate is poor.
