    Hi Matt,
    Thanks for the reply, the exhaust was gastight on this one however.
    I realised a bit later on that I had tried to reset the adaptations with the engine running (Doh)tried it again with the engine off and it reset ok, I know this because the engine did not want to idle until after the road test.
    Tested gasses afterwards and got a fast idle lambda of 1.001. Customer went away happy that he could get an MOT but I did warn him that maybe there is some underlying problem.
    For those of us who don't know the procedure if you want to establish comms without running the engine; insert the cardkey and press and hold the start button for about 10 seconds, the engine management then powers up without starting the engine. When powering off the dashpanel instructs you to press the start button twice.
    The EOBD connector is underneath the centre cubby box which slides backwards (and is released by a pushbutton operating an electric motor, over-engineered or what?)
