Hi all, We have had a Vauxhall calibra in for the last week. It's a 1996 on a P plate. 2.5 v6 with a Bosch motronic M2.8 ECU.
The vehicle is seriously over fuelling number 4 injector. The injection duration is over 100ms plus on this one cylinder but the pattern looks ok otherwise. All the other 5 cylinders are fuelling correctly at 3-4ms. Number four cylinder has had a new injector and is still over fuelling. I have tested for powers and grounds at the ecu and the injector and all are present and correct. I have checked for continuity from ecu to injector and it is ok. But to be on the safe side i have replaced the wiring to number four injector. After all this the injector duration was the same. So I have had the ecu tested and it has come back with no fault found. This is not what I wanted to hear!! So I have double checked myself and have come to the same conclusion. That the ecu is causing number four injector to be open for too long. The company that tested the ecu has told me that it is not possible for the ecu to open one injector longer than the other because the injectors are opened in 2 banks of 3. Is this true??
Any help on this vehicle would be great appreciated Mike
