BMW Z3 Roadster E36-1.9L-'99- Variation in idle Archived Message

    Hi All,
Went and looked at this and my Autodiagnos came up with (should have written it down) something about switch and Error. Stopped subs. 'bout year ago as haven't been using the tool very much, so software year out-of-date. Took off in-lead electronics as only round diagnostic connector I have has 15 pin 'd' plug other end. I suspect this is my problem, that connector has to be attached downstream of the in-lead electronics. Is this right? Have I lost a lead, or do I need to buy a connector to 25 pin 'd' plug lead? Have read codes from BMWs with round diagnostic connector before, but this was probably 2 years ago.

Back to the problem; I believe these have a fluctuating idle if in limp-home mode. Got some codes with garage snappy but lots were undocumented codes!

Very intermittently it won't start, and sounds though no compression. Is this too late for the nikasil problem?

Looking forward to hearing from someone!!

    Regards,
    Nick Bell
