    More info.

I also tested crank sensor on the non-start situation and this was outputting a nice square wave on crank (3 pin Hall device, up to 10V)also when running.

Same good result for hall cam sensor on distributor i.e. there is output on crank and run, also this sensor can be disconnected and car still runs so unlikely to be distributor sensor.

Also I checked the ECU controlled signal ground switch into pin2 of the amplifier on the coil pack and this produced a switched output from +10V approx down to ground so input to coil pack appears good when engine is running or cranking.

The customer started the vehicle today , drove it to work (6 miles) and it drove well, but on slowing down and getting into car park experienced what she describes as kangarooing from engine. So not quite there yet with this one.

Intermotor coil pack could still be the problem I guess with intermittent operation . Will have to test some more on Saturday to confirm this coil pack is no good.

    George
