    Hi all,

    Audi A3 1.8T, AUM.

Customer complaint is only the MIL, he says it runs perfect.

    Fault codes –
17536 Fuel trim bank 1 multi too lean.
17608 Boost pressure control valve N249 mechanical malfunction.
17705 Pressure drop between Turbo and throttle valve (check DV)

There is an actual symptom besides the MIL. It falls flat, feels lean maybe, lack of power. Fault is intermittent, it only happened once for me in about 20 miles. I had just shut down the laptop so didn’t get to see anything.
Also the Turbo sounds noisy to me, all the time.

I cleared the codes and got him to drive it for a while. Both the trim and N249 codes returned. Part load (multi) trim was 24.2%.

Cleared code and adaptions. When I drove it and experienced the symptom the N249 code set. This time the multi trim was only 2.3% but the symptom only occurred for a couple of seconds.

No visible boost leaks, T/body clean, MAF figures look good.

    Anyone had similar?
    Any thoughts?
Anyone know the code setting criteria for 17608?

    Regards
    Alan

Edit, I had checked the archives but didnt find anything. Just had another look and found this - http://members5.boardhost.com/ukautotalk4/msg/archive/8706.html
