Thanks everyone for the replies This little bugger is giving me the run around. I got my hands on a doner car & I tried a coil from my broken car on the good car & it generated a nice spark. I refitted the coil back onto the bad car & it fired up on two cylinders. Next I tried the other coil on the good car & again a nice spark is seen. So refitted it to the bad car & now it fires up on all 4. How weird is that!  I took the time to take some captures whilst it is running & the ignition pulse from the PCM looks quite different to when it wouldn't start. (will post the captures when time permits). I am hanging onto the car for a while to see what happens when it falters again. The "key" symbol still fails to illuminate under any circumstances. |
