Following an article by Dave Garrat in arecent edition of aftermarket, It made me wonder about a couple of these HPi Peugeot engines I have come across in recent years. Dave was explaining the idea behind stratified fuel injection which before reading the article I knew very little about (still don't). I didn't realise they ran at very lean conditions under light load/no load conditions and reverted back to normal fuel injection during medium to heavy load conditions. This got me thinking, are these HPis staying in stratified Fueling when they should be running at Stoic(normal ). It would be interesting to know, with the introduction of VAG FSI, Mitsubishi GDi and other high pressure Gasoline direct stratified injection systems (HPGDSI )being used by various manufacturers, the article suggests these systems are the future? Who knows? Mike
