With most modern systems iffy MAF sensors can be confirmed by unplugging the suspect MAF sensor and taking it for a test drive, if it drives better then the fault is confirmed
(no MAF signal will trigger LIMP mode. On most vehicles nowadays LIMP mode is pretty damn good and will drive better than an incorrect, but believable, MAF signal!)
