    assuming this is the engine fitted with the BOSCH ecu. Then with ign on listen for buzzing noise coming from fuel injection pump this is timing solenoid modulating. If quiet check wiring going down to pump particularly adjacent to engine top cover where it runs close to wiring. Another place wiring can chafe is where it routes near top of upper timing belt cover. If it has had gearbox out recently it is possible the earth wire has not beeen refitted to the 17mm bolt at top front of gearbox.Another problem with these is the large rubber hose from the intercooler splitting due to oil vapour causing lack of turbo boost.NB autodignos mt pro doesnt show reading for MAF sensor for BOSCH but does for the ROVER MEMs system.hope this helps ..
